James K., (aka James from PASTORIA) is the Head of OOO at ELSEWHERE, the Co-founder of PASTORIA, and an experienced facilitator of personal change and decision-making.
Sounding is the name of the practice in which a person and a host construct an emotional and spiritual path forward as it relates to their career and calling.
The process involves a person sharing out loud their thoughts about the state of their career, James learning more through questions, and then James presenting an emotional and spiritual path forward.
Sounding is not therapy in that there is not treatment for an illness. It is also not coaching in that there is not guidance towards a goal. Instead, Sounding is about getting a third party perspective on the ways by which a professional judges themselves and their career. The aim is to bring about a certain sense of redemption for past failures as well as hope for new successes – if not a new definition of success itself.
James was formerly a pastor who cared intently for leaders of various ethnic and vocational backgrounds and he is an alum of Claremont School of Theology.
